THE GOOGLE’ING [~2009…]
Before I started this blog, I have made around 3 or 4 other blogs. A few on Blogger.com, I started after I had a blogging break – better known as the writers block – over and over again. Then I discovered some disadvantages about Blogger.com . Some things I wanted couldn’t, such as making your layout more precisely the way you want, or something more with HTML and stuff. I am talking about the years 2009/2010/2011 and so on.
After Blogger.com I started with Google Site, another option Google gives you.
I have build the website all myself and I really liked doing that. Being busy with the customizing, designing, learning more about the code behind but feeling unsure to completely write a website in code. Yes, a CMS – content management system – has it’s plusses and is for now less error sensitive. But definitely when I have finished my study Computer Science – or hopefully way earlier – I can write a website completely in code.
And now I have this. My own WordPress website. And I have got two in fact. This one – sophievandenakker.wordpress.com – is the free one I started with as experiment and I still use as my main website. I already had my own domain – sophievandenakker.com – that started from the idea of making Google Sites on my own domain. I am quite content
