I hope you like the book too. It is worth to read it! I am not telling about the story too much– never do in my book reviews – you have to read the book yourself and make your own opinion.
In my view…
The story is about a woman named Hanna Berg. In a few days she will celebrate her 50th birthday. A jubilee anniversary. But is she amused by celebrating her birthday and turning 50? She is spontaneous and organizes a little journey for herself and surprises the people she meets.
Originally this book is written in Swedish and then you would think that it would probably be a thriller, a good detective or something along those lines. But this is not a thriller nor a detective. This is a simple cheerful short novel.
A book you’ll read in one go. A book that turns an ordinary day into a happy day.
A book that shows you that you can also enjoy the little things in life.
Enjoying the little things and doing spontaneous things in life, a little adventure that can turn out lovely.
The book has from me a rating of five stars because it is so simple, reads right away and it just made me totally happy in half an hour.
Writing style / spelling
In this little book of only 72 pages I didn’t discover any spelling nor grammar mistakes. It is carefully written. The sentences are short but not too short that you would think: did I overlook something?
Main characters
Besides the main character Hanna Berg, her brother Bert Berg plays also a role as well as a former acquaintance by whom she is recognized. And the first ones who eat a piece of cake are taxi driver Rosa Vega and a little black sweet cat with white paws; named Kitten.
