My book review of “The Crimson Spell” written by Cameron Dokey and F. Goldsborough

In my view…

The book is a nice sequel in the original Charmed series created by Constance M. Burge. The book can be read as a standalone because it repeats a bit about the previous two novels. The series is about three sisters who discover that each of them has a special power and the three of them together makes them the Magical Three. Three witches who can be really powerful when they act together. In this sequel they discover another kind of enemy. And they learn new things in life. What to expect and what not to expect? In such a situation, when you are a person with a special gift, is it oke to trust and discuss your gut or should you be alert and a bit suspicious towards new people in your life? This book does not answer that but it shows you through the characters the different perspectives and feelings accompanied by it.

Writing style / spelling

The writing style was good. From halfway towards the end the pace of the storytelling quickens up. I have read the book in a few days when I was traveling.

Main characters

The main characters in the first few books are: Prue – the eldest sister, Piper – the middle one and Phoebe – the youngest and the one who is trying to settle down in her new city San Francisco. The other characters in this sequel are: Adrienne / Kenji Yamada / Jordy / Craig / Sensei Towers / Morgan / Celeste Bailey and Daria. They all play minor roles and some are slightly bigger than the other but it is quite evenly.
