The horror part that makes this series also be part of the horror genre, is sometimes really scary.

I hope you like the series too. It is worth to watch it! I am not telling too  much about the story – never do in my reviews – you have to see the series yourself and make your own opinion.

In my view…

I wrote previously about ‘The Vampire Diaries | Season One’ . The new trending supernatural drama series. Season two starts right where season one ended. This series has really its own story and characteristics about vampires and the mystical figures surrounding.

The story gets more body because other things about the new world surrounds Elena Gilbert are explained. The introduction of every single episode is a little bit different from its previous one. Love that. This second season was released in the United States in September 2010 and the season finale was in May 2011. In these 22 episodes the life of the friends of Elena Gilbert changes a lot.

The main character besides Elena is Katherine. The doppelgänger who returns after decades. In the film New Moon you see werewolves, you see them here too. But they are not the same.

A short description where the first episode of this season starts with. Jeremy is almost dead when Elena arrives home. He is saved by Anna. John was there too but is brought to the hospital were Stefan saves him and command him to leave Mystic Falls. Caroline gets saved too….by Damon – surprise…Damon? – yes indeed Damon! A new game starts when Katherine is back in town. Katherine is the doppelgänger of Elena but was not discovered to be back until….

Oh and Katherine is a little bit confusing with Elena’s character too. When you are not used to see doppelgänger in television series or films. In the film Oblivion (2013) there is a sort of doppelgänger shot too. But a doppelgänger and a double version of yourself is not the same thing. When you compare those two, for example, you understand why.

In my opinion Season Two is actually a bit better than The Vampire Diaries | Season One. The story is more complex and the world around those vampires is getting more complete.

The overview of the episodes:

This second season contains 22 episodes of each ~42 minutes.

  • Episode 1 ‘The Return’ (same name as the book!)
  • Episode 2  ‘Brave New World’
  • Episode 3 ‘Bad Moon Rising’
  • Episode 4 ‘Memory Lane’
  • Episode 5 ‘Kill or be Killed’
  • Episode 6 ‘Plan B’
  • Episode 7 ‘Masquerade’
  • Episode 8 ‘Rose’
  • Episode 9 ‘Katerina’
  • Episode 10 ‘The Sacrifice’
  • Episode 11 ‘By the Light of the Moon’
  • Episode 12 ‘The Descent’
  • Episode 13 ‘Daddy Issues’
  • Episode 14 ‘Crying Wolf’
  • Episode 15 ‘The Dinner Party’
  • Episode 16 ‘The House Guest’
  • Episode 17 ‘Know Thy Enemy’
  • Episode 18 ‘The Last Dance’
  • Episode 19 ‘Klaus’
  • Episode 20 ‘The Last Day’
  • Episode 21 ‘The Sun Also Rises’
  • Episode 22 ‘As I Lay Dying’

The The Vampire Diaries | Season One episode titles compared to the episode titles of Season Two….the main subject of an episode is quite the same. The same sort of story plot behind. An episode about the good, the bad, the in-between, the history and so on…These looks like in a particular order and Season Two confirms.
