Top Five Today | Flashmobs

Tuesday is the day of the Top Five Today lists. It is is a list of five items I like the most around a subject. The subject of this week is “Flash Mob”. Because Flash mobs happen now and then and take place all over the world. Big and small. It astonishes people and creates for a short time some awareness or just some joy.

Flash Mob – Classical Music

The first Flash Mob of this list is “Ode to Joy” a song composed by Ludwig van Beethoven and performed by these musicians.
Description below the YouTube video: “Banco Sabadell. On the 130th anniversary of the founding of Banco Sabadell we wanted to pay homage to our city by means of the campaign “Som Sabadell” (We are Sabadell) . This is the flashmob that we arranged as a final culmination with the participation of 100 people from the Vallès Symphony Orchestra, the Lieder, Amics de l’Òpera and Coral Belles Arts choirs.”

31st May 2012, Som Sabadell flashmob – BANCO SABADELL

Flash Mob – Dance

Everybody can dance! And in a flash mob, everybody can dance together, laugh together and just have some fun! Hereby a flash mob for a promotional of the musical Grease back in 2016 in Antwerp and Gent (Belgium). Kids, teenager, young adults, adolecents, adults and elders dance at Antwerp Central station. The funnny thing is also to take a look at the passengers who are the specators of this flash mob.

29th February 2016 – Antwerp – Music Hall

Flash Mob – Formal – RAF for the Queen’s 90th Birthday

With trooping the colours you see a performance by the army. Mostly marching. But this time it is a bit more special. The Royal Air Force prepared a march choreography that in the end has a surprise for the Queen.

12th June 2016 – Liverpool Street Station – Royal Air Force

Flash Mob – Congres

Yes even at conferences there is a chance of a flash mob, very rare but so cool! Can you figure who in this public is part of the choir? So many people participate!

27th September 2013 – TEDx Rio de la Plata

Flash Mob – Musical

Last but not least is my favorite flash mob. The cast of the Disney and Broadway musical The Lion King spontaneously starts to sing ‘The Cirle of Life’ in the underground. Since then I am a fan of flash mobs and I hope I have the chance to see stumble upon a couple in my life or maybe participate in one.

5th August 2014. Published by Jamal Lee Harris: “The Broadway Cast of The Lion King took a break between shows on June 28th and took over a NEW YORK CITY subway car to give riders a little surprise. “

Have you ever stumbled upon a flash mob?
What do you think of it?

Greetings by Sophie
