I hope you like the book too. It is worth to read it! I am not telling about the story too much– never do in my book reviews – you have to read the book yourself and make your own opinion.
In my view…
The story is about two genious identical twin brothers who have made a plan to stay both out of prison and be rich and healthy. And accompanied by a woman. They made a plan and several events happen that changes the plan continuously. But they are not aware of each others behaviors and appearance outside prison. They are competitive and though they are identical twin brothers by DNA, are they really telling the truth to each other? That is the big question of the whole story.
The end of the story surprised me. I will not write spoilers, it just was not wat I expected it to be. Suddenly so different than other books I have read or series I have seen of this genre. Even I can not imagine a television episode of the series ‘Witse’ itself with such an ending. Wow – and normal – but also wow.
Writing style / spelling
Except for some Flemish words and accented pronunciations, I didn’t discover spelling or grammar mistakes.
Main characters
Previously I have read and reviewed another book in the ‘Witse’ series. Named ‘Witse | The Dutch Connection – Guido Eekhout‘. Here I have written my base opinion of the main characters. There are with every new book different side characters as well and I’ll explain them as an addition.
The main characters description:
There are a few characters who are the main characters through all the written episodes. Those characters are: Witse, the Belgian detective who is a bit stubborn but possesses a good instinct and doesn’t take everything for granted. He has his own police team that exists of the woman Tine Smets – most of the time his assistant in the field – and the men Romain van Deun and Rudy Dams. The big boss is the chief police officer Wijtinckx.
May 12th, 2016 – published in another book review by Sophie named:
Witse | The Dutch Connection – Guido Eekhout
The other important characters of this book are the famous identical twin broters: Gérard Vercammen and Marcel Vercammen. Marcel is married to Angela and Gérard was married but is more occupied by a former business contact named Abbassian Ozbirian and his security men. Also another detective named mr. Klein is involved shortly.
The books has a rating 3 / 5 stars because the end was…yeah what I earlier explained…and I was really excited about the beginning and it is quite complicated. Though I think the second part of the book lost its speed.
“It is a unique and intriguing story with an incredible end. Not a regular story for a detective series.” – by Sophie van den Akker – June 1st, 2016
